Last week started with the news that a good friend’s father passed away at 65.  Way too young.  Ernie was a great man with a wonderful sense of humour. Here is the sympathy card I sent to the family.

My Baby girl was very sick again.  She has not been eating and has lost a lot of weight.  Fingers crossed she seems to be on the mend.  Plans are well underway for her Birthday Party.  It is a Pony Party.  Here is a copy of the invite.

My  Owl won the design team vote of Aussie Scrapscource.  YEAH.

Two great friends had a joint 40th Brithday Party.  it was a great night.  Happy Birthday Jodie and Cara.

So you think you can scrap started.  This is my LO:

Fathers day was full on.  My SIL Kylie is looking very due and I am looking forward to a nephew!  Fingers crossed she does not have to wait to much longer as she is looking very big and very uncomfortable.

Not long and it will be Jacinta’s Birthday. lots to do between now and next week.

I had a sick girl om my hands this weekend, she seems to be on the mend now.  YEAH!   We took her shopping this afternoon for her birthday present.  She wanted a bike.  Down to the bike shop to have a look.  After ridding almost all of the ones her size around the shop.  She picked a hot pink one with basket and doll seat on the back. It is called “Holly”. Now she has to wait 9 sleeps.  She is so excited.

The was a Cybercrop at Scraptac Friday Night.  It was fun, and it was great to meet a whole lot of newbies.  There were three Challenges.  I managed to get two of them done. Here they are:

Sleep well my friend.

We have had a bit of a hard time lately… I lost my Uncle Jim.  He had been sick for 18 months, but he alwayss seemed to be able to bounce back.  He lost his battle on the 7th July and we miss him lots.
Helping organise his funeral has taught me one thing everyone must talk to their loved ones about what they want when they go.  He did not request much. He had a killer sense of humour and the two thngs he wanted was to be cremated and “go out to “Come on Baby light my fire.”  I want to thank my friends who helped me through this time and special thanks to Cara, Deb and Jodie for your support at the Funeral and laughing at Jim’s humour as he left us.  He would have loved that.  Thanks to my DH for the wonderful video display.
Following are my words from the funeral:
Gordon Camm
Gardner, Practical Joker, real character, independent, determined, documentary lover, Handyman, Nature lover, Grumpy old Bugger.  Many of the terms used to describe Gordon Camm, but to me her was my uncle, my friend.
Ready to tell a joke.
Ready to give advice.
Ready to teach you all the Aussie slang you could ever imagine (no proky pies).
Ready to a chat
How do I tell my four year old that her friend, Uncle Jim will not wake?
His soft whiskers, she will hug no more.
No more bandaids on his false leg.
No more tickels.
He has run his race.
Breath easy my friend,
your fears allayed,
no old fogies home for you to stay,
sleep well my friend.

Update on Januray

Filed under: Uncategorized — Diana @ 5:51 am

It has been a while since my last post.  Trying hard to get back to routine after the Christmas holidays.  I can not believe it is a month since I went back to work.  I love school holidays as the traffic in the morning is great.  This week it has been getting back to normal… bummer…  Not sure what is happening on the roads as I have seen three accidents in the last week.  Everyone please be careful.

After not seeing any movies for ages in the last month I have seen Enchanted, Atonement, and Alvin and the Chipmunks.  I also had a whole weekend scraping at my LSS.  Thanks to me DH for looking after Jacinta so that I could have this time out.

Jacinta and I had a weekend at Jodie’s house to make a Pirate album, but we did not get much work done.  Jodie needed renovation rescue on her Scraproom, so Cara, Deb and I all leant a hand. I was the paper sorter; WOW Jodie has a lot of paper.  I can probably tell you the manufacturers of most papers now.  Poor Jodie has spent most of her holiday sorting it out, but she will not know herself when it is all done.Jacinta had a wonderful play date with Ange’s Girls last week.  New toys, dress ups, and picnic on the rumpus room floor.  What more could you ask for.  I still laugh at the image of Jacinta in what she thought was a dress up and was Ange’s PJs.  I did not get a photo of that as I was to busy laughing.

Here as a couple of my recent LO.   The are a bit dark as they where photographed at night.

This is a LO for Jan Scrapjacked Challenge.

These are for a “Been there and Done” that challenge at Scraptactular.  You only had to do a double LO, but I was on a roll.  More memories scrapped, you gotta love that.

It is hot..hot..I back at work this week. On one hand I am sad that the holiday is over, but at the same time I am please with how much I have been able to get done, as most people are still away.

New Years Eve was fun.  Jodie had decided at the last minute to have a party and it was great.  A house full of kids, good friends, music, air-conditioning and a slushy machine.  Anyone who knows me well knows that a slushy machine is my favourite ways to have a drink.  It reminded me of when DH and I had starting going out and spent a lot of time at bar called Frostbites.  (For those don’t know Frostbites they had a long wall of slushy machines behind the bar with lots of different alcoholic slushy drinks.)  We had great fun there.  I even had my Hen’s Night there.  Jacinta took a shine to Sarah’s Harry and kept walking around ask where Harry was.  They where so cute dancing together.  We did not quite make it to midnight as Jacinta was worn-out and would not settle.  I headed home just in time to see in midnight at home with DH. She did no make it very far before she was asleep in the car. (There is always next year.)

On Tuesday as a special treat before returning to work and childcare, Mum and I took Jacinta swimming to her local pool. (This has now been nicknamed Granny’s pool.)  There is a special for the months of January arrive between 12-2pm and it is a dollar each.  We just thought it was a going to be a quick trip to cool down.  Two and a half hours later we all left the pool all wrinkled toes and hands.  Jacinta had a wonderful time hopping out and jumping in most of the time.  After the 10th time I gave up on working on her practising driving (no more swordfish arms), but just jumping in.  I am really please with her swimming.  When I was doing some laps in the slow lap lane at one stage she even joined me (up and back up and back).

It is going to be hot again this weekend.  Hope all your homes stay cool.
